TL: DR I missed my chance on one of these back in February but found this using Google Search and picked it up from UPS this morning.
Here's the deal:
This model caught my eye back in February when I happened to see one here in the classifieds. The price was not a problem, but rather than dig into my cash account, I was waiting for a nice payday at work. I figured, no problemo, as the bass I was eying had been languishing in the classifieds here for about a month and a half. Well, the large paycheck finally arrived and I searched for the OTC Metallic MIJ '75 reissue only to find it had sold the previous night. Lucky me!
Kinda bummed about it but I jumped on Reverb.There were 2 for sale, but in nowhere near as nice condition, and $3-400 more. That ain't happening so I checked back periodically, and those two disappeared by the end of March leaving me with little option other than the OTM Elites like the beautiful one that @Paulabass just acquired on closeout, but I really wanted the matching headstock.
Late Tuesday night, I googled Ocean Turquoise Jazz and at the bottom of the 1st page was a Craigslist ad which I clicked on. It was 2 months old but being the eternal optimist, I messaged the seller.
He answered the next morning that it was still available so I explained where I lived, and would he accept a Postal Money Order. He was cool with that, and had his shipping department figure out the approximate cost to get it from the Boston area to the hinges of Hades . . . $50.
We agreed on a price and I expressed the funds to his business. He got it by 3pm Thursday and had the bass sent 3 day select by that afternoon. I ended up getting it for $200 less than the one which originally caught my eye . . . so, no harm, no foul, other than a few months of whining.
Other than UPS mis-sorting it so that it kicked around New England for several extra days, this deal was no sweat. I picked it up from their depot this morning at oh-dark-thirty, and other than a tiny surface abrasion which should buff out, it"s mint. So without further ado, here it is:

Edit: Seller said he put new flats on it recently. They feel much stiiffer than the TI and EB Cobalt flats which adorn most of my Fender Basses. I don't know what they are, but as I'm a cheap sumbiotch, Im'ma see if I get accustomed to where I can tolerate them without undue fatigue.
First report: I judge Jazz Basses to how close the neck comes to my '69 which I've had for 40 years . . . Just like my Adam Clayton Limited Edition, this neck feels right on! Action's good to go as well, and it sounds as a Jazz should sound (IMO, ofc) I'm glad when they reissued the '75 in Japan, they mistakenly kept the '60's Pick-up positions. It's my preference.
P.S. I hope that you got your Mustang today as well, @pcake.
