Oooh... Nice! Has the tug bar, too. I've always wanted one of those. I'm definitely an antigua fan. Very unique look.

You need a margarita to go with that guacamole burst! I love it!I have come around full circle and play short scale basses exclusively now (again!) - but I wanted to have a 'generic house bass' available in my studio. What better 'house bass' than a P-Bass?
And what better P-Bass than one that manages to combine my two Fender Fetishes® : an Antigua finish, and the "TV Logo"!

I've been pining for an Antigua bass for years now... but being a late-70s phenomenon, they only ever came with that 'new-fangled' block logo that I have never been particularly fond of.
And then a few weeks ago I discovered 'the 2012 special edition'... and WOW. Thanks to the magic of TB Classifieds, one of these has arrived at my door today. Awesome to the point of spectacular... ringing sustain, lots of brightness, and what has to be the LOUDEST P-bass pickup I have ever heard.
It's in temporary purgatory on the third floor stairway, but once the big room is finished, it's going to display nicely as 'the house bass' - and it's sure to get put to good use by somebody!
Many thanks to @jimmyb for exporting this bass up here to the frozen wastelands![]()
I haven't played a bass with a thumbrest since about 1976, when I used to borrow the brand-new sunburst P-bass that belonged to our jr. high school. To be honest, it feels a little weird, and the thumbrest actually seems bigger than I remember it!How do you like the 70's thumb rest position?
I remember when they first came out like that and thinking to myself 'well it's about time!'
Play it in good health brother.
