NBD PRS Grainger 5

Just got this today.
I've wanted one of these since they came out but besides being more than I wanted to spend, I wasn't digging that they can be passive but don't have a passive tone control, just doesn't make sense to me. I guess their thought on the passive capability is just to use it as a emergency. I was about to get an acoustic guitar from Dave's but I naturally had to look at the basses again before pulling the trigger and discovered this on sale so I snapped it up without hesitation.
The set in neck is freaking incredible, it literally feels unfinished, weight came in at a respectable 9.2 / 9.3lbs, so for me with MM's that is a light weight. The two volume controls are very sensitive and has a three band EQ. Great B string and the 18 volt pre has plenty of sweep. All in all great addition.

Thanks all, pbass6811 yes it was on sale, Dr Cheese, it's called Blue Crab Blue but on this one I'm not seeing any blue, it's a real mellow color though.

I think PRS finally came up with a bass design that is equal to their guitars in form AND function with these GG models. They are beautiful and, in the videos I have seen with them, they sound fantastic. Happy NBD!

Hey Sorry I missed your question back in August, I was searching Grainger post,and took a look at mine, the bass did come setup and apparently that is how the bridge was designed as the intonation is fine, all the pics I've seen of Graingers have the bridge set that way. It is an odd looking bridge but the bass has been rock solid in it stability. Best neck I've ever played, B string is super clear also. Thanks, amd Happy Thanksgiving
