I sure I'm going fix that behind the bridge. This was not included in the sellers description.Beautiful bass. With the damage near the bridge I would do a complete restoration. This will be amazing.
I have to check my album...I don't recall the Spellbinder on my cover....could be wrong...most likely I am.
Very cool. Interesting "nut."
It's really more of a string retainer paired with a zero-fret than anything else, no nut required. Yeah the g definitely shouldn't be wrapping around the roller like that, and that's an exceedingly bad wrap job at the tuners as well. People always argue that you don't have to run the string through that center hole in the post, but looking at how the g string's wraps are literally unraveling shows exactly why you should.Interesting how the G string wraps around the nut. Not sure why. Cool bass, congrats and have fun!
I "fixed" the G string. But, will be putting new strings on it of course when I clean it up.It's really more of a string retainer paired with a zero-fret than anything else, no nut required. Some people just run it through the slot like it's the horizontal hole on a guitar tuner, then hope for the best I guess. Really though, if you know what you're doing I'm sure it works just fine, I just feel that the vertical post hole found on bass tuners is ingenious and it's silly/lazy not to utilize them imo.I wasn't aware that there was a pro/con conversation about putting the string through that center hole post; how else can you keep a string from un-ravelling off the tuner peg? Just curious about that, since I've never wound a string any other way.
normally I would agree but the damage looks like it could spread if not stabilized.I wouldn't refinish that bass.
yes, this one is $$$, I kind of wish mine was long scale too. When I saw this thread, first I thought it was this one that was for sale.
