Happened upon this recently. TV Jones designed for Gretsch around 2,000-2,001. 100 made in the US. This one is number 69

It's got its fair share of dings, but no damage. Picked it up at FedEx about 20 minutes before a gig. Even though the strings were not so good and in desperate need of a setup, I couldn't resist giving it a spin.

I'm a huge fan of TV Jones pickups. Awesome growl and punch. I have a custom Drake with TV Jones blade pickups. The ones in the Gretsch are normal Thundertrons and they sound terrific too! 33" scale and plays really well...good balance. I was afraid there'd be some neck dive, but no problem!

I've taken a bunch of different basses to this country/rockabilly gig and my bandmates don't seem to notice one way or another, but they had a lot of great things to say about the look and sound of this bass :)

If you happen to stumble across one of these, I highly recommend snapping it up!

Definitely cool bass! I like that sorta Danelectro looking headstock and that blingy white pickguard on black. It's amazing there's no neck-dive with it either. You also can't go wrong with a TV Jones anything AFAIC. Love the sound of those pickups even if not everyone does.

Play it well!

Do my best!

Maybe the 33" scale and small, light headstock help assure no neck dive. TV Jones pickups are just great to me. I can get the growl of a J with the punch and thickness of a P at the same time. Gonna try it with flats this week :)
