Well, I never thought I'd buy a 5 string jazz bass, but I wanted something to compliment the modern 5. Thanks to @scubaduba , I now have this wonderful metroline in Olympic white with an alder body and morado fretboard coming in at 8.5 lbs.

I actually got it about a week ago but I've been so busy I didn't get a chance to get it how I like it till a day or 2 ago. Took it to a rehearsal today and… it did the thing. But I gotta say… it ain't no modern!

Beautiful bass! I could use a Metroline JJ5 myself!

I didn't realize that was you the other day.

It plays as nice as it looks and Metrolines are very, very nice… I'm sure you will love whichever pickup configuration you end up with and I look forward to seeing your post(s) about it.

I know tastes change over time but I'm a simple man and Sadowsky makes it easy for me. Amps and effects are great and all, but I love the tone of these basses just by themselves.

I need to get a metroexpress now, so I can have one of each!

Congratulations! Is the neck slimmer than the Modern? How is the B string?

Answering again after 2 gigs and prep/practice for them.

The B string is great, sounds solid like a Sadowsky should, feels similar to the modern because it's the same scale length and same Sadowsky blue label SS strings.

The neck on the modern is more comfortable to me. I prefer the finish on the back of the neck on and finger board edges are rounded, or at least rounder. The metroline has a noticeably sharper edge.

I'm surprised you could put that Modern down for long enough to order a second bass.
