Well done, and welcome to the club! Insanely great bass that needs no mods of any kind. Yours is even lighter than my 6.0 pounder, which also has zero neck dive. Congrats!

I've got more than a year until my VM4 SuperLight arrives. This thread is making me envious, but it's reassuring knowing you guys love them so much.

What sorcery is preventing neck dive? Everything looks normal. Tuning machines don't look like aluminum.
I believe they are aluminium. They also won't let you order a Superlight with anything other than a pau ferro or maple fretboard because rosewood or ebony would make it neck dive. The maple they use for the neck is "Norwegian maple" which is supposedly lighter than Canadian maple. And I think the relatively beefier bridge helps prevent neck dive.
Norwegian Maple (lighter weight) on the necks. Much slimmer design on the body, heel, neck thickness, etc also make for a lower weight.
I think it’s why even Bluesman Vintage and G&L paulownia basses stay in the 7-8lbs range instead of 6. Because they keep much of the old Fender blocky design. Playing my Sandberg 5 and G&L 4 back to back, the G&L feels like a “blockier” experience. I have to fight it a little bit more than the Sandberg.
I've just turned 70 and I'm very excited to learn about these super lights. I've been on the Sandberg website but can't see on the 'configurator' where you select 'super light'. One of you guys help an old feller out?!
The Configurator doesn't show everything, The best thing to do is contact a dealer and have them work it out. There are a few in stock at various dealers depending on what you want. Basically Superlight = less than 6.9Lbs. the average is more like 5lbs ish for a 4 string and 6lbs ish for a 5 string.

Congrats on finding one in stock, I hope you enjoy it. The weight is a game changer. There are a few other things that are great also, they are all Pleked and they have a zero fret. This allows for a super low action. Depending on the pickup model and config you may want to play around with a few different strings, they make a big difference.
