this arrived today! Got it through Musician's Friend used but it shipped from a Guitar Center in North Carolina. Very impressed, especially for what I paid ($219.99 plus tax and shipping, just under $260 total). I'm thinking it may have been a floor model, it's in nearly new condition, the protective plastic is even still on the pickguard. One or two small dings in the Transparent Blue finish but otherwise seems brand new.
This is my first 5er and third bass overall. It joins a 2006 Epiphone Thunderbird IV that I got used in 2008ish as a college kid that collected dust for many years as my initial interest didn't last, and an Ibanez Mikro I bought during a President's day sale, hoping it might be easier to play as a shorter guy with smaller hands. After a couple months of playing, I've realized a lot of songs I want to learn call for a 5er, and I started doing some research. I considered turning my T-bird into a BEAD bass but didn't want to mess with it or pay to have it done and then not like it. When I saw this bass for the price it was, I went for it and I'm glad I did. Even though the full scale is larger than the Mikro that I've gotten used to, it doesn't feel as unwieldy as the T-Bird doe and after a couple hours I'm already adjusting to it. I look forward to taking the next steps in my bass journey with it.
