We took my daughter to the airport in Columbus, OH so figured I would swing into the guitar stores in the area, with very low expectations of anyone having much in stock. Much to my surprise the Guitar Center had at least 40 basses hanging up. I played just about all of them. If you would have told me beforehand which one would have been my favorite, I would have called you crazy. And if you would have told me I would own a purple bass, I would have told you the same thing. So, without further ado, meet my new Schecter Stiletto Studio 4 in limited edition transparent purple.

Congrats!! Those schecter stiletto's are such great basses. I've had my custom-5 for about 15 years now. Still one of my favorite basses.

Like most companies they make several bass ranging from affordable to expensive. This particular model was US$800. Which was the range I was looking for. I wanted a mid price range bass that was well built, versatile and giggable. This one checker all the boxes. The fit and finish is excellent and the neck is a dream. Smooth and fast.

That's a beautiful Bass for 800 bucks US. Cool colour and it has 24 frets!

My first bass with active pickups also. It will take a little bit of experimentation to learn what all tones I can get from it but so far I have been able to dial in a few tones I love.

Nice! I've always wanted one of the Stiletto Studio basses. I own 4 Schecters, two basses and two guitars. They are all solid instruments!

Nice, congrats! I think those Stiletto Studio's are very underrated in the bass world. I've seen a ton of bands use them over the years and Schecter, in my experience, is a pretty good company. I had GAS when those came out in green and now this purple looks pretty sweet as well.

They are like playing a Fender P with active electronics that can get you a full range of sounds, from P to J to Rick and beyond. Plus at a great price too.

It was setup pretty close to what I like. It was a display model that had only been out a few days. I tweaked the truss rod a little when I got it home, it was a little too low for me. I dig in pretty good. I also had to set the intonation on the E string, the other strings were dead on.

+1 on Schecter Stiletto Studio basses being underrated. In my peak years of gigging, touring, and attending shows, I saw a LOT of working bassists using Schecter Stiletto Studio basses (mostly the honey satin ones with the bubinga top). They mostly get a "meh" reception here on TalkBass, though. Go figure.

Korean-made Schecters totally punch above their weight class.
