It's probably going to be quite a while before I'm able to play anything anyone will want to hear, but I'm super stoked to FINALLY get my first bass. I'm getting a late start at 50 years old, but I've wanted to play bass for thirty five years. Thanks for everyone that recommended a Sire as my first instrument. Chicago Music Exchange was incredibly easy to deal with and made buying online very comfortable. It arrived nicely set up with excellent intonation and comfortable action. This was a really nice gift from my family. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to me!

To further add to the awesomeness, I paid for and received a Sire gig bag w/the bass I returned. I kept it for the replacement bass. To my surprise, the replacement came shipped in a new Chicago Music Exchange gig bag. I called to let them know that I'd ended up with a free bag and they said no problem..... keep it and enjoy the bass. CME has been really great to work with. I've dealt with Marc, Geoff, and Jake and all have been very helpful. Incredible customer service for a $329 instrument!

Not sure if anyone cares, but the bass weighs 9 lbs, 3 oz (w/two 9v batteries). Not featherweight, but not overly heavy either. Feels comfortable. No neck dive. The more I play it the better I like it.

It just keeps getting better! I got a package in the mail yesterday and CME sent me a t-shirt! CME has been very good to me. I'm slowly working my way through the Hal Leonard Bass Method book and am really enjoying the bass. Looking forward to doing business with CME again.
