V3P as in passive, came with EB cobalt flats. Put on a set of dunlop rounds. Looks white in the pics but is sonic blue.

There are a lot of "certified open box" V6 basses on Sweetwater right now. Probably a lot of customers are sending them back. Looks like a failed experiment. The plastic appearance and rough finish on the back and sides would be a deal breaker for a lot of people I think.

Why so negative? My V6-5, as I explained, is a really good piece of bass gear!

For me the v6 did not live up to the quality that I have come to expect from Sire. I have owned a V9, V7, 2 V5's, P5, and 4 V3 models.

Well, after only two actual V6 instruments presented here, I guess it's wayyy to early to tell whether this is a "failed model" or not. Of course, if someone does not like the finish, color etc. that won't probably change anyway... (I certainly favour the V7 personally, FWIW. )

What's the problems with your v6? From my point of view and especially my V6-5 OTB purchased by Thomann in Germany is a really really good bang for the buck!

The body looks as though the Flintstones carved it with a dull rock.
How could Sire send this out and think it is acceptable?
How could Sweetwater's 55 point inspection miss this?

I found a couple of V3p five strings that are under 8 lbs. Better finish and passive tone works better for me than the active pre on the v6.

I play my V6 in passive 80% of the time. I only use active on a few songs where I want to boost the bottom and cut the mids for a more dubby sound. Thinking of getting a P6 to go along with it. My only small complaint is the bass boost is SENSITIVE! A little goes a LONG way!

I agree. AFAIK, that's true for all Sire preamps (well, technically almost all active models use the Heritage 3-preamp, so it's no surprise).

Wow that is terrible. Could the Sire QA team be slipping with this new gen? My Z7 is a beautiful instrument and not just for the price.

The only thing which I could complain about the V6-5 is, that all Potis/Knobs except the Bass-Poti (with Pull-function to activate/deactivate the active mode) and the Pickup Blender Poti, havin a lot of "backlash" - easier said: The backlash has only the concentric potentiometers.

Is this also the case on your others V6-5?
