Double Bass NBD - So I got a free bass yesterday...

Yesterday I was gifted an NS Design WAV 4 electric upright bass. It's about 6 yrs old and has spent it's entire life in the gig bag in a closet. The owner said he played it 3 or 4 times after he bought it and then put it away.

So today I ran it thru my Fishman preamp, into Pro Tools, into a session from our last album that would work well with an upright, and tried the bass part on the NS Upright.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds. Can't wait to run it thru the '61 B15, then my GK200/MB2x10 rig.

All in all, it's been a good day!

Thats a heck of a nice gift... you must have a pretty good buddy there.
I have a Yamaha RB250 that an old friend rescued from a dumpster and gave to me. I put new strings on it and set it up. Its a cheap bass, but it's a pretty nice bass considering it cost zero.
Hey,..... A free bass is a beautiful thing.

You were gifted a bass worth that much money?? Holy crap dude. I own an NS design 5 string violin and it's pricey and amazing... like in demand by pro players kinda amazing.

That's an incredible instrument you have there! Enjoy! If it's real...
