NBD!!! Spector content

have wanted one of these for YEARS!!!! granted it's a Kramer era import. but still plays and sounds really, really good.

Aye the best Spector I played was a Kramer era unit that looked a lot like that one but had Kramer pickups (I think, was years ago). None of the ones I tried later felt or sounded anywhere as good to me. Could be my memory playing tricks on me tho.

It probably had Spector pickups if it was a Kramer Spector and not American. But by Spector, it really means EMG SELECT or DUNCAN DESIGNED. Spector branded Pickups from this era are equivalent to these. Don't necessarily Sound BAD - Dont get me wrong. :smug: I have numerous SPECTOR P pickups that i've accumulated, and bought one of my Favorite Kramers loaded with them -> but they ARE more or less EMG Selects/Duncan Designed.

it is a bad thing!!!!

I have a Kramer import as well and it sucks.. I'm ready to sell the hazlab, put the spector pups/tuners and bridge on my Bently Series10, and make a movie with the Kramer getting thrown off a bridge onto the dry culvert below...:spit:

but just so you know, I really like your red ns2 :)

feel free to gut it and send the rest my way ;)

I honestly can't for the life of me figure out why I haven't bought one of these YEARS ago, I love this thing, plays like butter and even with the stock pick-ups, sounds REALLY good, can't wait to see what it'll sound like upgraded. :D

I'm with KAOS on this one. If I was still into 4 string basses this would be high on my GAS list, while the Euro 5 would not. Was it the electronics that made that an amazing bass? Beats me, but I haven't played a Spector built later that I like half as much. I guess this is why basses come with different options.

actually KAOS, I was teasing KBF about throwing it off the bridge and gutting it. He knows I love this thing to death for more than one reason.....it is a very unique tonal bass and is almost perfect for what it is in every way. Is it the hazlab that creates that tone? most certainly!!

cetera is biased towards Spectors ( I wonder why )?!? eh, maybe someday I'll find an old Rex or HOLO to add to the collection :)

Don't mess with the preamp!! Drop a set of EMG's in there and you will not be disappointed. I bought one of these import Hazlab copies and put it in my Czech Spector and it brought it to life!! Closest thing I've heard to my US Spector.

Trust me.....watch the TB Classifieds and switch those Pups!
