So I find myself working with a Led Zeppelin tribute again and I recently bought a '66 AVII for just such a occasion. I didn't really have a appropriate back up (not that anyone would care if I brought a Thunderbird šŸ˜šŸ˜‰). While going through and setting up basses at work last Sunday at The House of Guitars this MIC Squier Affinity Jazz Bass crossed my bench and once set up I was totally smitten with it. The neck is amazing, great fret work and I was able to set the action super low with no fret buzz, the nut is cut perfectly I didn't have to touch that. For esthetics I put a reissue tort guard on it, looks killer šŸ˜Ž
The bass sounds great as is but I want a sonic clone of my '66 AVII so I ordered a '66 neck pickup and I'll probably swap the pots as well. I'm really amazed at what a gig worthy bass this is I used it at Fridays show for the encores and it just felt amazing.

Nice! Now that you've replaced the PG with for a JPJ-adjacent aesthetic, what kind of routing lies beneath? Thanks in advance!

How did this work out? You were setting up the bass for someone else or for sale at work and just bought it?
I go through the bass inventory and give them a little love so the customers have a good experience, more than once this has resulted in me buying a new bass. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜šŸ˜Ž

I made a frankenbass out of an affinity.
Way too fun to mess with something that you don't have to worry about someone complaining that you're decreasing the value.
Granted... the wife thinks that any bass that has glitter in the finish is ugly (add one point for the fun)
