I just had this beauty delivered and haven't even taken the time to pull the plastic off. Damn, I am impressed with this bass! The fit and finish are great with only the nut looking a bit rough and having some laquer on the bottom sides and the bottom horn not being completely smoothly round on the inside near the neck. Fret ends are nice and smooth, but as expected the fretboard is a bit dry. The electronics are dead quiet and the pots are smooth as butter. About the only thing that I did notice is that the output jack definitely feels a bit cheap. Here's the most amazing thing: it only weighs 7.8 lbs! I was definitely expecting close to a pound more, but my shoulder is ecstatic that it's lighter. Time to give this a proper setup and get to playing! Very happy with this purchase!

NBD: Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision in Olympic White

I'm dying to get this in the sunburst version, and add the ashtray covers and a suitable Fralin old-school flavor pickup (although Squier spec'd a perfectly fine alnico pickup here, maybe I won't) to build a little Motown tribute axe for myself.

Very nice looking! I remember when Bryan Adams played his trio tour like, what, 15 years ago? or more... here in his hometown at least, they all wore white, had white amps, and white instruments... and It was just him, his regular drummer and regular guitarist, and Bryan himself played bass (white fender precision) the entire night, with no keys or backing tracks at all. It was VERY impressive for a guy who's kind of renown for wearing a strat and just stopping playing whenever because he's really just the lead singer. Harkened back to the original record when he played nearly all of the instruments himself before he finally snagged a world class drummer, and everything went up from there.

Congratulations! I have serious regrets about selling my earlier Sonic Blue CV Precision. Recently tried to find another but the selling prices were 3x what I let it go for.

Beauty! The Squier CVs are every inch a Fender IME/IMO. The pickups in my sonic blue sound glorious. No need to mess with the electronics. Just set it up and go!

Oh yes! I had a CV J in the same livery. Great bass for the price. It’s ten years old now and likely still living in Afghanistan.

There’s the American Precision V, perhaps by another name. The Squire line likely has a 5’er as a JB or PBass.
