NBD: Squier sonic blue P from Elderly!

Pretty excited about my new Squier Classic Vibe P that arrived via Elderly Instruments today!

There's lots of threads about the Classic Vibe series, so I won't bore you with another one. With that being said, these basses do live up to the hype and I'm really pleased. I hate to say it, but this one plays better and feels more "solid" than the dozen or so MIM Ps I tried in various stores. For the money, they can't be beat.

I'm also happy to have picked Elderly as my online retailer. The bass was set up great, was packed securely, and went from Michigan to east Tennessee in less than 48 hours. Give these guys a look-see before you do your next online order. They're a local shop that can run with the likes of Musician's Friend, Guitar Center, etc.

They're great basses. I just wouldn't necessarily buy one sight unseen due to the variance in weight I've felt in them. But otherwise the consistency of quality is definitely up there.

I swore I'd never buy another instrument without trying it first, but I took a chance on Elderly's. I'm glad I did. They sent a great example and set it up really nice to boot.

This thing is solid, basswood or not. It really resonates too. I couldn't get over the fit, finish, and overall quality of the guitar- no, it's not perfect, but it's close. And for three bills, I won't complain.

I've been wanting a Strat, and I won't hesitate to look at the CV line again when I decide to pick one up.

yep. they inspect everything head to toe, and do minor setups/adjustments on them.
cool thing is too if you buy a display they give you a free set of strings.
i bought my tele there...i kinda wish i would got some higher dollar strings instead of the boomers.

If I'm ever anywhere near Lansing, I'm stopping by Elderly's. I've bought lesser items from them in the past, even though this was my first instrument purchase. They're first rate and I will always try to use them in the future. Even coming from Michigan to the nasty heat and humidity I'm currently "enjoying" in Tennessee, the bass is almost perfectly set up, so I'm sure they tweaked it before it was packed up.

Seriously digging this bass, by the way. For those who can get past the "low rent" name on the headstock, they will be able to own a great instrument at a ridiculous price.
