NBD Squier VM Jazz

For the price category the Squire VM is the best out there. I was actually in GC today trying out a V4B and I decided to use that bass in 4 and 5 string. It seems they have added a new gloss to the back of the neck which I would take 0000 steel wool to it but other than that it sounds great. I'm considering trying out a 5 string bass for a gig I have so I might pick up the 5 version of this and leave my American J bass 4 string at home.

Not too long ago…I wanna say 2014?…Squier started glossing up their VM '70s necks, probably at the same time they switched from "Duncan Designed" pickups to the current "Fender Designed" ones.

Even though the necks may have felt "cheaper" before I do like the satin unfinished feel on a neck. But I did like the new pickups and how it sounded. I wish the squire I started on in the early 90's sounded as good as this model.
