Considering i've got less than $600 total into all three, and i haven't seen a Stingray for less the $900 in this area..... i do like ATK's though

Yeah, from the front it looked like one piece at first, and then when i saw the back...sold!

I am seriouslythinking of going there tomorrow and looking at one. I have a Squier CV Jazz...and a VMJ 77. So perhaps a Squier P willbe in the stable.

Want one so bad. Can't find any locally to try out and I'm afraid of ordering one online in case I get one with badly mismatched wood.

i really want one of these too. the only one i've seen was on the heavy side for me, but i'm not exactly big so a lot of basses are heavy. did they have more than one in the store?

I don't think they had any others in, but i didn't ask. It lighter than my Jazz, and waaayyy lighter than the EB-3 knockoff, which is a tank. I'll see if can dig up my digital scale. It buried somewhere because it's a liar and i hate it.

lobster, what does she weigh?

the P weighed in at 9.2lbs
the J weighed in at 9.6lbs
and the EB-3 knockoff weighed in at 9.0. which really surprised me because it feels at least as heavy as the J.

Lovin it dude, so many great looking Squiers out now, and luckily a lot of em play great too. As soon as I unload a few things and have the extra $$$, I'll almost definitely be grabbing a Squier (one of these, maybe?) for my backup. Congrats on the purchase, enjoy man!

I'm not really sure. Its Japanese, but the name has been removed from the headstock. From pics of other Japanese basses i suspect it's an El Degas. Its pretty nice, beaten up a bit, but i paid $75 for it and play it a lot. Game's On.... gotta go....
