NBD: Sunburst Geddy Jazz...from '94?

I had one of the first sunburst Geddy's that came out and it said Made in Japan. So apparently they've gone back to that instead of the Crafted in Japan. That's definitely a Geddy sunburst body on that. Looks completely legit.
Can I ask the exactly the point of having a serial number to identify an instrument if the company is simply going to "recycle" the number and thus make the entire reason a moot one? 
I'd check the pickup spacing... My guess is - Geddy neck on some type of fender (or fender style) body... the unique thing about the Geddy body is the 70s pup spacing...
If you really want an answer... You'll need to take the bass apart and check all the stamps... you may find the answer in the neck pocket...

It looks like Kerrycares beat me to it. As it turns out, the bass I bought used from GC was previously owned by fellow TB'er Kerrycares! Small world! At this point I'm 99.9% sure that what I'm dealing with is a newer model 'burst Geddy Lee Jazz with a recycled serial number. Just for clarification sake, I might try and call the store today and inquire about the serial number. I'll let you all know what happens with that.

Oh, and I wanted to thank everyone for helping me figure this out. While its really no big deal, at the same time its nice to be aware of what model year your bass is!
Just as an update to you MicG. I just bought a brand new Sunburst Geddy to add to my collection and I have the same "Made in Japan" and T series Serial Number.
