So I traded in my Peavey Foundation for a T-20... Don't have any pics, but have a super low res guitar center one... What's the general consensus on T20s?

Though it still kinda bugs me that the T-20 isn't the 1 pickup version of the T-40.
I think so, the pickup is older, though, I think - don't these have the "super ferrite"?
I like the T40 pickup better, but there's nothing wrong with the super ferrite, I have a bass downstairs with one (and that silly shaped pickup "ring" - don't care so much for that aspect), sounds good to me. YMMV.
Excellent build quality. Solid instruments. The slanted super ferrite is a ridiculously sweet pickup and placement.
P Bass on steroids with a nice thinner neck. Flats and you'll be in heaven.
The only thing better to me is the Gen 1 Fury with the same PUP. It's lighter cause the body is trimmed down significantly.
No use comparing with the T40, totally different animals. No messing around with just a volume and tone control. Point and shoot.
Yeah, the T40 is definitely more of a "swiss army knife" thing, tonally. Even the 1 pickup T45 (to a lesser extent).
I absolutely love my T-20FL... Most certainly have the Super Ferrite pickup. They were only made a couple of years. They are extremely well made. Neck tilt adjustment as well.. Very heavy. Super playable and great feel.. I have never owned a fretted one, I have had 4 T-20FL including my first one in 1982.. Brand new with case $225.
Never knew much about the T20s. I have an 89 Foundation equipped with a pair of Super Ferrites.

Pretty cool basses with a baked-in "plonk" sound, I thought. Beautiful hardware, with the coolest bent steel bridge I've ever seen. The SF pickup in the T-20 is different than what is in the Foundation and Patriot. Much larger mass involved, hidden beneath the pickguard.
Here was mine, I loved it but 10 lbs was a bit much for me so I sold it. Later, I replaced it with a mint condition slant-Fury off ebay. Unfortunately, the damned Fury weighed a few ounces more than the T-20. Sold it also (sigh).
Here's a twist on the T-20 pickup arrangement....a blade. Saw this one on ebay a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure I've seen another like it somewhere before, also.

There was a super ferrite blade pickup on ebay recently, don't know if it's still out there.
Actually, all of the ones I see on there now are blades. I wonder if the others are the same inside, just with a cover on top?

No idea, didn't read the descriptions, I only came across them looking for T40 pickups.
Here's the '84 Fury that I had hoped would be lighter than the T-20. It sounded identical to the T-20.

Someone correct me, but I think Peavey called it "Frost Blue", their answer to Fender's LPB. And "Sunfire Red" on the Fury, their version of CAR.
