Uh.... yeah.... I was born in '55. A birth year bass for me just ain't gonna happen. Plenty of 60's & 70's basses out there for you young'uns.

The shop she bought it from listed it as a 74. Didn't look like a 74 to me, but I din't care because it's awesome and so is she. We both got curious and decided to take peek under the hood. This is what we found...

It has a fretless conversion which is quite nice. There's hardly any wear on the fingerboard and that A neck is fun to play. The case is in really good shape too.

You can't get more vintage/classic than that. I love Ps! I'm very envious but still happy for you, of course. Your wife is very cool (like mine). Congratulations and enjoy!

That's awesome!

My wife got me pretty good for our 10th anniversary, 11 years ago. We took a kid-free weekend in Taos, NM and she managed to not only purchase, but actually get a fretless G&L L2500 to Taos without me noticing (I notice most things...). That was a huge surprise! That bass has been a go-to fretless for more than a decade now! It'll likely be the last fretless and maybe last bass to go if I ever have to cull the herd.

I, too, had a missus like that. She, too, was a keeper, sadly, I said good bye to her over a year ago. Anyway your taste in women, cars, and guitars is impeccable!
My son also pick a good wife, last year she took me out to buy a nice bottle of Scotch, ostensibly for Son's birthday who is a few weeks after mine. Upon taking it home, I volunteered to hide it in my room as I was staying with them at the time, so son would not find it. On my birthday son rings me from work and tells me to get that bottle that I was hiding as my birthday present! I won't fall for that again. It was a nice Scotch, too. :D
