Just got this today. It’s supposed to be early 70s. Not sure if there is a way to date these by serial number. Needs a few things but I think it’s going to be a great player!

The "one black string" looks is a bit freaky, but should be a solid player if it has lasted this long.
Looks like a cool bass, but you should post an OCD warning before showing that one-black-string photo!
Ha...yeah this is how it showed up. It doesn’t even look like a real string, it looks almost like a piece of wire or something. The other 3 are flats that are in really bad shape.

It's pretty cool! I like the 'domino's' like P-pu, cool squat knurled knobs and subtile horizontal flaming of the body wood.
