When I sell something, I'll check it thoroughly. When I sell something I actually used for a while, I'll know it will have traces of said use and will disclose that in the description. The seller is not as great as you said, and I would not buy for one minute that he was actually surprised about these blemishes. Don't fool yourself, people usually know pretty well what they are doing.

That said... for a used bass it is still in great condition. Accept a small refund, like the value of a new set of strings, and be done with it. I don't know if Reverb has a comment or review option for sellers, but if it has, I'd leave a remark there as well. Doesn't have to be a crushing "0/5 stars, biggest scammer ever"-type of comment, but an honest disclosure of the problem and how it got solved (or not...) I think would be fair.

Folks need to stop cruising the new thread section and replying for the sake of replying.

Agree 100%
But part of the deal when you make a post with a mysterious & intriguing title and ask for opinions

However it gets back to the same 'ol conversation about having a separate area in the forum for buying/selling/collecting. Just like "hardware and setup" is in a different place than "basses as a whole". Probably never going to happen, but it would help keep things cleaner between discussing the instrument versus discussing the buying and selling process. Just bangin' the ol drum again lol

Does anyone on Talkbass actually play bass anymore? It’s seems every other thread is about someone who buys a used bass online and then freaks out over the smallest perceptible imperfections and is always looking for a reason to return it or to demand some kind of partial refund. It sounds like 95% of you guys and gals should just stop buying online. Are you a bass collector for a pristine only bass museum or are you a bass player?

Buyers’ remorse isn’t a reason to nit-pick every little thing about a bass as an excuse to return it or to ask for a refund. Was it used? Does it tune up and play? Are there glaring discrepancies or large chunks taken out of it? No? Suck it up buttercup you bought a used bass online. I can guarantee you you’ll never get even a new bass from GC that’s been out on their sales floor that looks as good as that Lakland. Had to zoom in with an HD digital camera to find the imperfections? It’s likely they went unnoticed or weren’t a big deal to the last person. It doesn’t mean you got scammed or deserve something extra.

I can't help but laugh at the suck it up buttercup nonsense. Buyers remorse is easily taken care of with the 30 day return policy. I think you and I both know, a floor model bass at GC with a dent in the fretboard would be an issue. But I'm glad you got to get a good online rant out today. Simply pointing out something not specified in a sale, sure isn't feeling like I deserve anything. But hey, you have a nice day. Thanks for the early morning put downs.
