NBD Yamaha BB414

This popped up for sale locally. I had heard so many positive marks on them I thought I would give it a shot. So far I'm glad I did.

First, some (kind of blurry) pictures:

It's in pretty good shape for its age (made in 2005 according to the serial number). Has some scratches and dents, needs a couple of screws replaced (rust) and a new control cavity cover. Strings look almost new, they're some sort of flatwounds, possibly fender based on the green silk on the bridge side only.

It plays very nicely after adjusting the truss rod a bit. Action is a little higher than I normally like but I'll try leaving it alone for now. Neck is a great size, not too thin and not too baseball-like. I didn't have much time to play it plugged in but the little I did, I was able to get a good sound out of it.

All told, I am glad I spent the $60 on it :)

$60 what a steal. I had a wine red 414 as my first propper bass after my practice bass. Felt like i had a grand plus instrument.
