NBD: Yamaha BB414

Hey all, been forever since I picked up a new bass, but I became curious about Yamaha. Somehow I don't ever think I've owned one and I've always heard good things.

Stumbled across this one for ~$275 to my front door from Reverb. Set up in about 10 minutes, low action, plays GREAT, perfectly balanced and looks sexy. I'm digging it.

Very underrated instruments for sure. Having never owned any of the higher end models, it's hard to imagine how amazing they must be. Enjoy that beauty.....

These are truly great basses. I have two BB415s. Killer, they are.

Good buy! I picked up a BB435 last year and am constantly being surprised by it’s versatility, sound quality, and construction— but then, there’s a reason session masters like Nathan East, Abraham Laboriel and John Pattitucci use them!

Yamaha figured it out in the 80's: You never hear anyone complain about a P/J setup on a Yamaha.

Those are some of the coolest looking basses. I love the oval fret markers, the pickup rings, and the rail bridge pickup. The BB is an underrated design, aesthetically. I think the current ones aren't doing it justice - the pickguards make them look generic - but the previous generation certainly did.
