NBD - yer basic MIM Standard P-Bass, with some nice accesories

After messing around for many years, I decided to actually learn to play, with some consistent practice and study. My intro thread is here: 25 years a beginner

All these years I put off getting a real Fender until after I learned to play better. But I had a recent cash windfall, and while I planned to just put it into the retirement kitty, a couple of friends said I should spend some of it on something fun.

I didn't want to shop around the local stores, trying out dozens of basses. Nor did I want to risk wandering into Sadowsky's and departing $3-5K lighter. Went with a known quantity. Fender MIM Standard P-Bass, 2017 build according to the serial number lookup. Nothing fancy or special, but something I've wanted a long time.
I've always researched and shopped extensively, looking for a bargain and/or something unique. This is the first time I just picked and bought, new off the shelf, including a practice amp and case. Came with Fender NPS rounds, I'll keep that for a couple of weeks then prob have a pro set it up w/Ernie Ball flats or something. Feels and plays great so far.

A little something to play through when practicing. This sucker is sweet. Phil Jones BG-100 Bass Cub 2 X 5" little combo amp.

Finally, Dad always preached taking care of instruments. When you buy one, have a good case for it. Looking around, I saw an odd looking ad on Amazon, with this item at a very low price, listed as from the 'amazon warehouse.' I clicked, and I paid $64 for this really nice case by G&G Cases for Fender, listed elsewhere for between $220 and $300.

Love my two G&G cases. I spent more than $64, that much I can say. All looks good and you’re all set for exciting bassguitarring adventures.

I have no idea how you made such a hash of your image posting. Looks like it took some doing.
