Right place, right time.
1948 Kay M-1
Shoddy but stable so far neck repair......
But I got it for the price of a cheap used MIM Fender Precision.
Been wanting a second Kay so I don’t have to use my 1937 ser# 513 at questionable gigs. I had an extra set strings (plain gut) , couple of adjustable bridges, extra p/u. Took her in for a neck plane yesterday.
I feel pretty lucky.

Luckily the existing bridge profile was identical to my older adjustable bridges from my ‘37 Kay. I couldn’t believe it.

Now I can’t remember GretschWretch.
It’s at the shop right now. I did check the label to make the both numbers matched on the inside. It’ll be nice to have a Kay with a rosewood fingerboard again. They sound so different when your slapping.

Nope.
It’s not pretty.
And it wasn’t done right.
But, it’s holding.
The seller did it.
I’ll see how the neck plane goes, it might have to fixed sooner than later. I will still be ahead if it needs to be addressed.
