Congrats on your new bass. I hope it works out well for you.View attachment 4728455 View attachment 4728456 View attachment 4728457 View attachment 4728458 2000 Jaco Fretted Jazz
Original case
I tried 3 Jazz basses at the store and the minute I put my hand on this neck it was going home with me. Still has the tags on the case. I have no idea how they survived 22 years. Still plastic on the case latch plate also.
No I am not turning it into a fretless. Been there, did that in the early 90's.
From what I've read, this model came with the tort pickgaurd and bridge and pickup covers. But, the wholes were never drilled at the factory. I played it Thursday night with some Labella LTF's on it. It played like a dream and sat in the mix so well.
I've heard that these were shipped with the pickgaurd and covers when they were sold. But, not installed and no holes drilled. I've been thinking about putting a pickgaurd on this bass. Probably tort. Not sure if I should go red or brown. Also, I would need it to be relic'd since the bass is now over 20 years old. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
My suggestion would be to leave it as-is. The moment you slap a tort guard on there, it's going to look like a million other Jazz Basses.I've been thinking about putting a pickgaurd on this bass. Probably tort. Not sure if I should go red or brown. Also, I would need it to be relic'd since the bass is now over 20 years old. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
That's understandable.I'm going back and forth on the decision.
