Hey All,

Been a while since I’ve been on here…… life gets busy sometime. Anyway, just wanted to do a quick little review and let you know of a new customer builder from NC.

The company is prairieheartcustoms.com owner is Paul which I believe is also a long time member here.

So, I’ve been gigging the bass for about a month now….. wanted to give it time to get out of the honeymoon phase before reviewing. Well, it’s definitely proved itself and moved right to the number 1 spot. From the minute I strapped it on, it honestly felt familiar and comfortable. I’m basically a j bass/p bass kind of guy. So, when talking with Paul my wants were very simple. Went with a Black Limba for the body wood, and a simple one piece graphite reinforced neck with a very thick ebony fret board. I chose I pretty hefty neck profile, p bass sort of dimensions, but, pretty fat front to back. I gotta tell you, it came to me with very little relief the way I like it and hasn’t moved a bit in a little over a month. I honestly feel I could use it to fend off some drunk patrons at a bar and it wouldn’t even go out of tune!

As for electronics, I wanted a very simple scheme. V-B-T with Bart BCB4’s, result very modern j bass vibe. Paul will do any layout pickup wise and will do simple passive, or active options.

Well, not much more to say other than I’m really happy with the instrument. The whole process was great, Paul is very responsive and excellent with communication. Also, timeline was met. So, if you’re looking for something different, definitely worth a look. I actually already put in an order for another!

That's great. I always worried about Limba for bass as it has always seemed really flexible to me. Nice design and great execution. Congratulations to you and the builder.
