Actually, this arrived on July 3rd. MusicMan StingRay Special HH in Raspberry Burst. Not sure I'm all in on the black hardware (I like the contrast that chrome gives), but that's okay. Plays great.

I kinda dig the black hardware, especially the control panel.
Stingrays are such cool & unique sounding basses. 1st experience with one, I was on guitar in a fusion band in the early '80s and a friend would sit in with one from time to time. Probably the 1st active pickup bass I was aware of.

Thanks everybody! You've all managed to make me feel better about the black hardware. That was my only reason for hesitancy before I pulled the trigger.
I was thinking this was a 2019 or 2020 model. But I just looked it up by S/N and it's a 2021. ("Born" on June 7, 2021.)

Black hardware looks killer in that combination. Chrome just wouldn't have the same effect.
I think it was just the control plate that kinda bothered me. I love chrome control plates, but the black is growing on me.
