No expert by any means, but thought I'd give it a try.

94 MIM P body from fellow TB'er Gord_oh
2010 MIM Jazz Neck, '62 Fender p/u, wiring harness from Bayou Cables, fully shielded, Fender replacement gaurd, "threaded rod" vintage bridge, ReRanch paint & clearcoat.
Don't know what to call it. Was kinda going for a '60s type of thing. Real happy with the sound/feel.
Anyone know the years Fender used Surf Green on a P?

no ideas on years but i dont think many surf green P had maple boards

but i prefer them anyway so a big thumbs up from me im jealous cause we cant import re-ranch to UK

Fender used Surf Green from 1960-65. The color was "stolen" from a '57 Chevy.

EDIT: Custom colors weren't standardized until 1960, when the first custom color chart was available from Fender. Before 1960, custom colors were (for the most part) selected by the customer, not by Fender. The 1956 Fender catalog states, "Stratocaster guitars are available in DuPont Duco colors of the player's choice at an additional 5% cost".

Thanks everybody, for the comments and history. I'm real pleased with it.
The closest I've been to having a P before is an 06 deluxe special.
It's not bad, but I'm going back to passive! I've still got it and 3 jazzes.
