Ok just picked up this squier P bass for 25 bucks. My first project bass. The neck feels great and I was pleasantly surprised with the tone.

Looking forward to my first mod project. Notice the quarter as the G tuner lol

Great deal - Even the wood looks good. I am so partial to natural finishes I would just to a nice oil finish.

yeah, briefly I considered it but there are 3 really noticable flaws on the front that you cant see in the photo. 1 is a factory flaw and the other 2 are really deep gouges that the previous owner left behind. I will have to fill them, so I am thinking a solid colour for my first attempt at this.

Hey guys,

Ok so after a few weeks I finally got some time to get back into the hobby room and make a little progress...completely removed all the old paint, sanding by hand right down to the sealer. Wood filled the 3 damaged spots and sanded down nice and smooth. It appears I am ready for paint.

As this is my first project I do have a question. What should I do with the screw holes when painting the body?

Also I have decided on a different colour than my original white.

I am thinking Flouresent Green. I get a very strong reaction of either love it or hate it when I tell people. My nickname is Wallygator so as my first bass project I really wanted to make it my own. Green for Gator kinda thing. With a Black pickguard.

On that note you should include a wall(y) in there as well.

Try finding a pickguard with a brick wall pattern. ;)
