I saw the prototype for the REV52 on the Cataldo Basses website and i immediately contacted Carlo, i shared my interest for the bass and we began discussing the
completion of the prototype for me. I had previously picked up a JAEBird built by Carlo in a trade and loved it but it was only a four banger and i am a 5 string player. So, this seemed to be a fit for me. Carlo informed my that i would really dig the thunderbuckers and boy was he right!!

about the bass: It has a raised center section,
alder body, 21 fret rosewood fretboard neck, ThunderBucker EX5 pickups,
transparent jade nitro finish and Hipshot Ultralite tuners.

i got it yesterday and i love this bass, it is amazing, the thunderbuckers are everything i read about them and more, this BIRD growls, barks and bites!! the neck is incredible, to me if feels allot like a PBass neck its not a bass ball bat but when you hold it and play it, it actually feels like you have something in your hand. its not are narrow and whimpy feeling, like it might fall out its amazing the laquer nitro finish on the neck is perfect, when i play my Gibby studio pro V the neck get tacky with the sweat from my hands and its just YUCKY feeling, not this one! my studio pro has just became a bench warmer and will see very minimal playing time compared to the REV52...i am already thinking about another one! seriously.......

now a bit about the build process. i called Carlo and we discussed the possibility about completing this proto type for me. Carlo is a straight forward guy, super easy to work with and very knowledgable when it comes to the 'Birds and it really shows through his work....I cant say enough about how this whole thing transpired and how easily things fell into place. Carlo thanks!

tomorrow i will take this to its first gig and i am expecting so awesome results.....this was truly a grand slam. more to follow w/reviewing the live results!!

yes it is, and it sounds and plays GREAT.

When I first saw the photos of the bass that Carlo posted a couple of months ago on The Last Bass Outpost forum I immediately contacted him to ask if I could buy it. He quickly came back to me and told me that it was spoken for but he would be happy to build one for me. I decided to hold off but anticipate ordering one of these from Carlo later this year.

Enjoy!
