Yep, I'm a DB player. Nope, I am not lost, wandering over here to the BG side. Yep, it has been several decades since I played BG more than once a year because DB is my thing.

Enter this attractive Epi JC 20th Anni model. It looks very sweet. It plays way easy (and fresh TI Flats are part of the trick). It delivers a wide pallet of tones through the Walter Woods MI-225, including spot-on Steve Swallow sounds which are a true joy to explore. It indulges my longtime fascination with the Les Paul Signature guitar. Thanks to somebody's brain-fart at Guitar Denter, I've paid more for some speaker cabinets than for the JC. And above all, Mrs. Sherry digs bass guitar, so value beyond measure there!

It weighs less than my home-brew BGs. And because I sling it high and always use a strap neck-dive is not a factor -- my right forearm holds it up, not my left hand.

This week I'm headed off to play at a memorial for a former bandmate from my decades-ago cover band. He was a close friend back then and died after a long, creative, inspirational life. I will be lucky to tote The Jack (in its matching 20th Anni gig bag) and bring a proper contribution to the festivities.
