For those interested in parts basses, Sound Guitar Works knocked this one out of the park. I ordered this 24fret 5 string with lots of extras, including a custom headstock. As I start the finishing process, I will post more.

And...done! This is probably my last parts bass project, so I pulled out all of the stops and loaded it with all my favorite things, and a few new details- like the short stem ultralite tuners, and Luminlay. SGW does an excellent heel/ cutaway contour for the upper fret access, and the fretwork is really top notch!

Wow! That is beautiful! I love the way the colors of wood blend together. A couple questions if I may. What are the frets made of? They look gold color. Also, what is the control knob layout? (Preamp?)
That is flat out gorgeous!

The frets are the EVO gold by Jescar. I first tried them on my P5 and have been very impressed with how they resist wear and they don’t have a noticeable effect on tone.

The controls are a 4-knob version of the John East Uni-pre, with volume/blend, bass/treble, mid/freq, tone/ pull passive.
