I won't be able to get around to the assembly until this weekend--and I'll be lucky to have time to do some electronics work!--but I am very excited that my new Rikon 10-325 arrived today!!

I already ordered a mobile base, Wood Slicer 111" 1/2" 3TPI resaw blade and a Wood Slicer 111" 1/4" 6TPI scrollie blade.

Good times afoot.

Nice! I make do with a slightly crappy old 12" Craftsman, never tried resawing on it. It probably just needs a really good tuneup. You will soon be in Resaw-land!

This is a giant upgrade from my 9" Ryobi hehe. Looks like the mobile base will be here Saturday which is perfect timing. I'll need to build a resaw fence and of course tune it up for (hopefully) 0 drift. I am hopeful that the Alex Snodgrass bandsaw clinic video pays dividends!

With the help of my wife, we were able to wrangle the 256lb box of (hopefully intact) bandsaw parts into my garage. This weekend I will need to move motorcycles and clear an assembly area. The 12" of resaw is a game-changer for me once I get everything dialed in.

I heard a rumor that bandsaws are useful for other things besides resawing, like cutting curvy shapes, but that's probably just unfounded hearsay! I gotta try some of those Snodgrass tuneup tricks.

Done for the night. I'll tune it up and install the table tomorrow afternoon. Once I square the table and am satisfied with the blade/bearings placements, I'll do a few cuts to see how things look.

Man this thing is heavy! Not 3 phase industrial heavy, but a far cry more sizable than my 9" bench top.

I watched the snodgrass video again, a bit counterintuitive not centering the blade on the tires, but he seems to know his stuff. All the guide bearings on my Crapsman are a bit worn, but I'm sure it could be improved by trying all his suggestions.

I am sure you can get your saw a bit closer to better by those tips.

Once the saw is set up (I built it on a mobile base, of course), I can get to organizing and putting away my finishing stuff, mount some more tool holders, move my 1989 day-glo skis and whitewater oars to basement and try to find some sanity in my tiny garage. The motorcycles stay, but can be moved out for table saw action.

I also want to build small bases on casters for the tiny craftsman jointer and benchtop drill press. Now that I am getting better at using the tools, I may as well get better at making my limited space more efficient!

Got upper and lower bearing dialed in. Now I just need to get the blade tracking and tension situated. Then, likely re do the upper and lower bearings.

Man, I still have some adjustments to make. Blade seems to move back and forth despite thrust bearings being set up nicely. Tracking I suppose? Hopefully I get it figured out soon!
