I don't think I'm jumping the gun just yet. It's Monday after all. Plus, the Huskies play Stanford on Friday, so that's a day less to get all wrapped around the axle.

Stanford is still the class of the Pac-12 North, but they can be had. Washington almost got had last Saturday in the desert. Both teams are on a short week, and the Huskies have the Cardinal at home. That's two road games in a row for Stanford. I don't think that makes much difference to them. And, since Washington had so much trouble against a running quarterback last week, I'm not having good thoughts about what McCafferty might do to them.

If Wazzu gets healthy against Oregon, it will make me happy. Pilgrim, too, no doubt.

In real football, Cornell beat Yale. Dartmouth is looking pretty good and is undefeated. It's about time Harvard got nailed for a recruiting scandal. I suspect they might have recruited somebody knowing that kid is only going to be a Rhodes Scholar, not a Nobel Prize winner. The smoking gun proof of scandal, for sure.

Nope, you're good.
Florida is at Vanderbilt. Maybe they can play 60 minutes against this team from Tennessee.
Dartmouth is off to a good start, hosting Penn this Saturday.
I think many people this week are excited for the Saturday afternoon/evening game in Clemson.

Now the real schedule begins for the Wolverines. This game is going to be nuts. I have a feeling.

They are [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] if you look at the numbers thus far, but Wisconsin has played the tougher teams. The only real disparity is in passing yards. Michigan has that going away, but again, level of competition. . .

Wisconsin is touting better that 5 yards per rush. That's a nasty ground game they have.

I can't wait to see if the Wolverines are for real. I sure hope so.

I'm curious who LSU has in mind that is going to be as successful as Miles.

That's a multi-million dollar salary question. Heck, sign me up for a year, then fire my sorry butt due to pure incompetence, I'll happily disappear with a big pile of cash, and everything's good.

What could possibly go wrong here? By comparison, that's about what they will get in comparison to what they had. Rick Neuheisel might be available if they don't want to hire the TBOT brain trust.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm going to Nashville to the UF/Vanderbilt game with my wife--this will be her first college game (she's never been to a pro game, either). Having been to a UF-at-Vandy game before, this should be a good, somewhat low-key way for her to get her feet wet. The stadium's about half the size of Florida's, and a lot of Vandy fans are the genteel types who tie sweaters around their necks. We'll be staying with old friends of mine (my old drummer--he even has a legitimate day job!), getting hot chicken, and undoubtedly seeing some bands.

I really can't imagine. Maybe they could lure away Tom Herman? Even if they could, that would be a drastic change in playing style.

I wonder where The Hat's going to go next, he says he wants to coach again. Not sure where else he'd go in the SEC, I can't see him downgrading to the bottom feeders at 62 years old. Maybe Penn State would be a good stylistic fit, if they can Franklin.

Nick Saban had a gem of a complaint yesterday. Saban laments early transfers after Barnett exits
Here's the money quote: "There's certain pride people have in competition. There's certain things I was taught growing up about not quitting and seeing things through. I think if I'd come home and told my dad that I was going to quit the team, I think he'd have kicked me out of the house. I don't think I'd have had a place to stay. Sometimes you didn't have the choices."

As a Miami Dolphins fan, let me just say this:

I'm with ya there Greg. I started reading the article, then had to do a double take to see if this was really Nick Saban being quoted. I thought maybe I saw one headline to click on, but accidentally clicked on a different story.

Exciting weekend of football kicks off tonight. I'm debating going to the Stanford/UW game tonight.
