Week 9 already? Time flies. Washington plays Utah. We will see if the Pac-12 has a dominant team or not. No Lou Holtz griping this week, since Utah won't be a trap game for the Huskies. It will be a challenge. I expect they will be up for it, and so will Utah. It should be a good one.

I can't imagine anybody beating Alabama, but then I thought the same about Ohio State. Nobody can beat Alabama this week, since nobody is playing them. This is the week Clemson plays Florida State. That should be good.

Yeah, week nine. Such a bummer how the season flies by.

The worlds largest cocktail party will be Jacksonville, Flroida this weekend. Although I think the do-gooders don't want it called that anymore.
Florida scrapes out a win against Georgia. I hope.

It's homecoming week in Hanover, and big bad undefeated Harvard is coming to town. A tough task for a good Dartmouth team. I unfortunately expect some quiet and sad rides home after that game for Big Green fans and a few extra people crying in their beers at Molly's and the Canoe Club (great bourbon selection by the way).
Once again, the Ivy League takes the national stage this Friday night on NBCSN with Yale at Columbia in a match up of 1-2 (conference) teams.

I wish the talking heads would hush.

Already projecting an Alabama vs Michigan national title.

I see three games left that make that a tough get for the Wolverines. As yet, they have played one team that is at least a decent challenge so the positional rankings are skewed. Don't get me wrong, as a fan I'm loving it, but they need to cool their jets a bit with the national title crap-ola.

So much could happen in the Big Ten. What if OSU beats Michigan? And I'm guessing it's not yet impossible for Wisconsin to still make the conference title game, though I could be wrong. If OSU or Michigan faces them again, who knows?

In the SEC, Bama may have things locked down, but Auburn is starting to look like a tough out (and the Iron Bowl can be very unpredictable). Though I have no doubt they'll beat whoever comes out of the East.

ACC: Clemson snuck past Louisville, and now it looks to be smooth sailing through to the playoffs. I don't see UNC as a serious threat.

Pac 12: I know Gaolee doesn't want to hear this, but it's the Huskies' conference to lose.

Big 12: Looks pretty darn irrelevant.

Oh, now you've done it. I have to go out and dance around in circles in the rain and do a penance waltz. Or they will get blown out by USC, the evil empire. Or something.

I can't believe anybody would televise Yale vs. Columbia this year. That game is likely to make a high school bumble fest look like an elite performance.

And, I think there's a chance Florida State could nip Clemson. Maybe.

If anybody needs to know where I am for an hour or two, it's outside standing in a puddle on my head. Forward calls to Greg. ;)

I get what you are saying ... but the talking heads have to talk about something, and halfway through the season they are going to start projecting for the end of the season. With that being said, Michigan has absolutely been taking care of business this season (apart from not being able to make a field goal against Wisconsin). I'm not saying a national title, or even playoff bid, is a sure thing for Michigan, but I think they've earned their place in the conversation as much as any other team in the country.

I'm bummed that there really isn't anything to win against MSU this weekend (and a whole lot to lose, if it's even close).

Has beating your instate rival become a non-issue for UM fans?

-Mike

Well, I grew up near East Lansing, and went to school at Michigan, so I have plenty of friends (i.e. my Facebook) from both. I don't know a single MSU fan who is expecting them to pull the upset, and the spread is between 18-21 points. Obviously, I'm stoked that my team is likely going to avenge the last few years (especially last year). However, if MSU can even make it a close game (within 10 points or so) ... it looks bad for Michigan.

So yeah, it's a big deal that the tides have turned in our favor, but they turned so suddenly that it might not even be an exciting game.

It's increasingly looking like the Apple Cup will be a biggue!

I'm starting to think that ESPN Gameday is likely to be in Pullman - after long last - that weekend!
It will be the one time this year I'm rooting against the Cougs. But, if things keep up as they have so far, I'll raise a glass in your honor before kickoff. Then celebrate or cry bitter tears into my beer at the end of the game, depending on what happened.

Amen, sir. I think you have the edge at present, but crazy things happen when those two teams play.

Because Harbaugh was more successful in the NFL :D

In truth there is validity to that assessment. His recruiting moxi means as much to the team as his football acumen. Players want to play in Michigan again. That was not the case 5 years ago.
Same number of rings in NFL.:D Biiiig difference in college.
