NCAA Football 2017 Week #11

Week 11 already. Washington has a short week and plays Stanford in Palo Alto. I feel better about their chances after Washington State bottled up Bryce Love this past week. Washington gave up close to 250 yards to Oregon, but only 3 points. Stanford is a different animal, though. Win out and they could have a shot at the playoff, especially if Wisconsin loses sometime. If Miami wins out, it will help them, too.

The real Ivy season begins this week, with Yale at Princeton. Dartmouth plays Brown on Friday.

Ivy league football on Friday, Washington football on Friday. I feel a full crank mode coming on.

Based on the beatdown Iowa put on OSU, the Badger Hawkeye tilt could add some mustard to Buckys resume. But Bucky lost 2 key players, probably for the rest of the year in defensive standout Chris Orr and #1 wide out Q. Cephus.

I don't see Bucky getting past Iowa.

Watching the Cougs put a lid on Stanford's star running back was really fun!! First time Stanford played in snowfall since 1936. It was a close win but still a W. Cougs are 8-2 and back in gear. One game left before the Apple Cup!

Had a brainstorm today and we're going to the Utah game in Salt Lake next weekend, it's a one-day drive at just under 500 miles away. Win or lose, we'll see a lot of Cougs and have a fun trip!

Enjoy Utah. I'll be at home, listening to the Huskies if I can, or at least checking in every so often if the game conflicts with something else (which it almost always does these days.)

Yeah, Coach Boom surely is excited for this one.
Maybe the Gators wake up and put together a win. I can dream.

It will be interesting to see if TCU's defense can contain OU's offense, and if Oklahoma State can rebound from last week's loss in Ames against a much-improved Iowa State on the road.

If OU beats TCU, the chances are that the Huskies will gain a place. If TCU beats OU, then it's possible for OU and TCU to swap, leaving Washington right where it is now. That's even though OU would be a two loss team. It should drop the loser, but I'm not convinced this season.

If Miami beats Notre Dame, then Notre Dame becomes a two loss team and ought to drop out of the top ten if the usual logic holds. But that might not happen either.

I don't see anybody beating Alabama or Georgia until they play each other. Then one of them has to lose. Then the committee will have some controversial choices to make. If either Auburn or Mississippi State win next week, the scramble will really be on.

I used to detest Miami and all that team stood for. Now, I want to see them win for strategic reasons. Go figure.

Yep. They just have to win out. Easier said than done, but it's certainly within their abilities.

I'll be rooting for Auburn, Mississippi State, and Miami this coming weekend. All are teams I never, ever root for.

Between injuries and suspensions, are there even enough players left to play?

This one is doubly exciting as the game is being played in Fenway Park.

My Trojans are at Colorado, then finish the regular season in the Coliseum hosting UCLA. Neither game should be a problem.

Personally this week I'm gonna watch the Irish with my brother ( his rooting interest ) as it has huge implications for their bid to steal a power 5 conference spot. Should be a good game @ Miami.
