WSU takes on USC in Pullman. That's going to be the big one for me this week. Washington plays Oregon State. They should arrive for the game awake this week instead of waiting until halftime. The conditions ought to be a bit better in Corvalis. That will help.

Dartmouth starts their Ivy schedule with Penn. Harvard and Yale are back to non-league games for a week.

I doubt WA will have trouble with OSU, they're not doing well.

The Wazzu-U$C game is probably THE biggie in the PAC-12 this week, and I believe it's a national game. Unfortunately the Cougs have a track record of underperforming in nationally televised games. Still, it's the test that will tell us if they're really a contender or not. Take down U$C and a path to the BCS opens up.

BIG game tonight!! Washington State vs. U$C!

Want to learn more about Mike Leach? What a character! He fits into Pullman so well it's amazing. I tend to chuckle all the way through these stories.
Two days on the Palouse with Mike Leach

WSU-USC predictions – TONS of good links from this article, including the one above.
Washington State - USC prediction roundup

Can you name the last time WSU beat a top-5 opponent in the regular season?

That last time for the Cougars came five U.S. Presidents ago, in the 1992 Snow Bowl Apple Cup, when George H.W. Bush was in office and the Drew Bledsoe-led Cougars thumped No. 5 UW 42-23. (All the better; any win over the arch-rival Huskies makes a season complete for the Cougs.)

That was literally an entire generation ago – Bledsoe’s son, John, is now a freshman quarterback on the WSU football team. So if the Cougars manage to upset the Trojans in Pullman, they’ll have pulled out the sort of once-in-a-generation victory that people will talk about for decades.

GO, COUGS!!!

I'm somewhat of a Sam Darnold skeptic. He's averaging almost 2 INTs per game so far, and the competition hasn't been stellar. The only impressive game he's had was vs. Stanford, which isn't even ranked after losing to San Diego State.

Last year, he had the luxury of two strong wideouts and being one of the least-sacked QBs in football, plus he wasn't the starter at the beginning of last season so teams had less time to prep for him. This year, everyone has tape and the receiver talent at SC is down a notch. So far, blitzing has reduced his effectiveness and caused him to turn it over more. Will the trend continue? It'll be interesting to see.

The Ivy League delivered a great game tonight.
Dartmouth with the TD from the one foot line on fourth down as time expired. Final score, 16-13 Dartmouth.
The Big Green are 3-0, and 1-0 in Ivy League play.
Wow, that was a fun game to watch. Ivy League is good fundamental football.
