NCD! (and auto financing questions)

Nope, they wouldnt let me keep it there overnight once I paid for the inspection.
I might be able to keep it at my parents house, or possibly at a friends place.
I may even see if the lienholder of my new car will absorb the previous loan (same bank) so I can get rid of it sooner, since I'll be able to afford larger payments now.

Cool. Be advised that if a portion of a loan is effectively "uncollateralized"' you may be charged higher interest on the entire loan. You may want to keep the loans separate so you can avoid paying a higher rate on your new car. I realize this somewhat differs from my previous posts, but I just mentioned this thread to a Bank officer friend of mine on FB and he raised this issue.

It's nice to see the TB support of someone that's asking for help in basically a "least crappy option that still sucks" situation. I feel for you and can't stand that someone attempted to bake your new ride. Shameful.

Congrats on the new shagwagon and best of luck. I wish that I had a good suggestion other than I'm a believer in good credit but at times, hit shappens.

That made me laugh. Hit shappens!
I may be able to avoid the hit on my credit now. I certainly didnt want that outcome in the first place, I just didnt see any other viable solutions. As for others and their advice, well its nice to see some people really try and offer up possible solutions. As for the rest, its all good, Ive grown thick skin and peoples attempts at putdowns roll off like water on a ducks back.

Hey, one more thing- you may need to put the car up on blocks, store it indoors (garage) or have the mechanic or an adjuster sign an affadavit to prove it isn't roadworthy so you can stop paying collision insurance on a vehicle you don't own and can't drive. No sense in sending an insurer money for THAT! Talk to your agent to see what needs to be done- heck, you might get a refund!

Ah, see I couldn't do that here in MA unless it was stored in "an enclosed garage", so I had to waste even more money on f%]^ng insurance! I hate insurance companies. My Saturn had a broken timing chain. I had owned it for two weeks when grandma in a minivan t-boned me making an illegal left turn. Ibought it for 8k, the idiot adjuster estimated 6k in repairs, insurance company winds up paying out 11k for repairs when all is said and done (I have no car for 3 months). I drive it for 6 weeks, timing chain breaks, I have no legal recourse. Murder was seriously on my mind about that time. Even now this is spiking my BP... six years later. Timing chain broke in the parking lot at a gig, and the patrons saw me getting my car full of equipment towed at the end of the night- humiliating! Like I said, writing a check for 4k on a car I had driven maybe 2k miles nearly killed me. People who say " i'ts just money" just haven't been ripped off that bad. No more financing used cars. Rant over, I need a drink!
