NCD: Fearless F112 and F115

I love a powerful, punchy and dynamic tone with clarity and authority. So I decided to order an F115 and F112 from Don Barry of Barry Audio Design. I had the opportunity to try Don's demo F112 in rehearsal a couple of times. I found that everything that I put into the sound was right there. I wanted to look as bold and dynamic as the tone I am trying to achieve. I will play these cabs for a couple of weeks before I provide a review. For now, I am very excited about the opportunity to use these live.

I've had the pleasure of rocking that same stack a few times and it's just silly how great it sounds...most gigs you'll only 'need' one, but let's face it...when a stack looks that cool it'll be tough not to bring both cabs to the gig :)

So I got to play with the cabs for about an hour today. I used a GB SM9.2 mostly with my precision V. The SM9.2 is a great match for these cabs. The wide array of eq setting on the head really bring out the best in the cabs. Also, the voicing switch on the cabs is great. I found both sounds very useful. It seems that position two has very nicely voiced mid scoop. It imparts a very modern tone to my Precision. Position one sounds more like a traditional cab but with the clarity and depth I have never heard from a trad cab before.

I also want to mention what a pleasure it is to work with Don Barry. He was patient, communicated clearly and cheerfully, and delivered a high quality product on time and that met all my requirements. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a authorized builder.
