NCD: Fearless F112 x 2

What made you go with the 112 over the 115? Was it size and weight or some other benefit?
Great looking rig man I love those grilles. I'm looking at those kits they do cause I love using gear I've made myself. I had been thinking about using that spray on truck bed liner as a protective coating, but do you feel like the duratex is moisture/impact resistant enough that that would be overkill?

At lower volumes the F112's sound equally good. An amp with decent power and headroom is highly recommended, but not a requirement.

I am a player who needs to feel a bit of air movement in order to enjoy the ride. I know others who find equal enjoyment using IEMs. The F112's shine at most all audible volumes, but the point at which you will appreciate it is highly subjective. It is my feeling that these cabs love when you hit them with power and gusto.

For me, the Zoom B3's amp/cab sims through these speakers are finally total bliss at performance volumes. Even with only one F112 (and not two) the experience is equally impressive, but just not as fun.

What weight did yours turn out to be? Cabs in their 20's are NICE! I have been using a lightweight cab for years and it beats the heck out of all that loading/unloading; pick one up in each hand and go. I think you will enjoy them immensely.

Mine are 38 pounds each and are easy one-handed lifts.

Certainly, a few pounds less could have been purchased for additional cost, but the day that 6-pounds is a deal-breaker for me is the day I finally get to use those nice blue parking spots at the mall. :D

The F115's extra bulk, no so much the extra weight, was the deal-breaker.

Knowing that it was likely I would own 2 cabinets (for a 4-ohm load) made the choice easier.

I have not had a long-enough relationship with DuraTex to comment at this time, but I am optimistic.

Those look great and I bet they sound even better!

Not to beat a dead horse, but did you look at the F110 as well? I'm in the middle of mapping out my next cab adventure and I've "narrowed" it down to a dually, the F210 or 2 F110's.

Horse not dead yet, but no, I did not consider the F110, but briefly looked into the F210 as a possibility.

Good luck with your purchase! (the Dually is a monster!)

I'd be willing to bet the farm (if I had one), that the Reiner Amplification Studio 1200 would be pretty jaw-dropping with this pair of cabs.

Charlie, sweet cabs. I use to play though a fEARful 12/6-12/sub and it was everything that it's cracked up to be IMO. The fearless line looks even better. You have the best of both worlds with those two cabs. Even my 12/6 with most 500W micro-amps would be up to the task for most bar gigs. But the fun really starts with the dual-woofer mojo + additional power.........I'm sure your 4x10's will not move again unless it's out the door. Once again, sweet rig!

I know there is. I had a 4x10 that I really liked until I threw out my back moving it to a gig.:woot: That's what led to me building my 12/6. Once I discovered I had 2x12's that could cover everything that my 4x10 could and still be 40lbs lighter. My 4x10 was gone. If I had a place to store it I may have kept it, But I preferred the tone I was getting out of my fEARfuls, so the 4x10 left. Not dissing any other cabs, because there are many good ones. Just relating my journey with the green kool-aid.....:D

Beautiful cabs - congrats and enjoy! I've recently become very interested in Fearless cabs and have been reading up on them as much as I can, so this thread is of particular interesting to me as your configuration would most likely be exactly what I would want. From all accounts the F115 seems to be the best bang for the buck, but like you, its size and bulk are a concern for me as well and I think the F112 or a pair of them would suit me much better. Is there a real difference between running both and just one? There was a used F115 up for sale here on TB that I was considering buying but I had been traveling and it was sold before I even had a chance to go check it out. Having never seen or heard or handled any of these cabs I would love to get your take on them and your thoughts so far. Better yet, if you will be gigging with them anywhere in the area I would really love to come hear them if possible. I am in NYC every day for work, and live less than an hour outside the City. Thanks!

The difference in using one F112 vs two is the ability to move more air and as a bonus, that air is up closer to the player. This extra push is also enhanced by your amp, which is then dealing with a 4-ohm load and is able to deliver better wattage.

If your are hesitantly considering two cabs, start with the purchase of one and then go for the second cab should you feel you still require it.

All those choices are great, but they are on different ends of the spectrum IMHO. IMHO the DuallyT and the F212 are greenboy's best designs. Sure the F215 and '66 will go louder, and the fEARful cabs a bit lower, but all things considered these two sit in the sweet spot.

Where the F210 excels is form factor/portability, balanced with a health capability. It isnt going to fugg up your neighbors house the way a '66 will, but it will knock stuff off your own shelves. What is the right choice? Totally depends on your needs.

Thanks for the feedback, Charlie. "Hesitantly considering" is the right term - but it applies to purchasing even one cab without seeing or hearing it, let alone without playing through it myself with my own gear. They are not cheap and they are custom built and can't be returned, so that would be a pretty big leap of faith for me despite all the positive reviews. Do you think there might be an opportunity for me to hear your cabs somewhere - maybe an upcoming gig? Feel free to PM me. I haven't come across anyone else in the NYC area who plays a stack of F112s, or even one F112 for that matter! Meanwhile, I hope you are completely thrilled with your new cabs and that their sound is beyond your expectations.

I live upstate, approx 3 1/2 hrs from the city. I have a brand new F112 from Scabby Road. I'm running it through a Mark bass F1 so, 300W into 8 ohms. I have never (really) had anything like this. I love it.

It's been a while since this post but I'd be glad to let you check it out.
