Hello, I have a question about my bass's neck. the neck has been acting up on me for the past couple of weeks. For example, if i am sitting down, and i have the bass tilted back, towards me so it is easier to play. the neck acts like i adjusted the truss rod too much and all frets buzz. if i sit up fully, and have it straight up, the neck is fine. (By the way, the bass is an ibanez sr300, in case anybody else had these problems.)

strings have some weight, so if you tilt your bass backwards I think they'd be pulled towards the fretboard... Gravity, yes, but the weight of the neck and headstock /tuners will have a more significant effect than that of the strings.
As an aside, I personally can't stand thin, whippy necks, whether on guitar or bass. My Wish has a very comfortable neck...and doesn't bend!

If your neck is bending, and effecting the tune, under those circumstancess, my advice is to sell it and get one that does not have that problem. All necks will bend in different positions but it should be so slight that you cannot hear it.

yes i have tried tightening the neck bolts before, but seems to not help. I am getting a new bass in February, so i might sell this one. thank you all for the help!
