Neck defection

I need help.

I'm sure I may not be the only person that is terribly attached to their instrument...so I need help. Here's the story:

On Wednesday I took my bass to a shop because my neck was warped. Turns my neck was really warped. The guy said he would take care of it and we'd be good. So we left. Today my dad called the shop and they said my neck was defective and that my neck would probably have to be shipped away to be fixed.

I got it at a Best Buy and when we called there, they said we would have to send it back to Fender. They have to replace the whole bass...

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone before and if so what happened? Were they able to replace the trust rod or did they have to just replace the whole bass? Please let me know.

If the neck is truly warped, then replacing the trussrod will not solve the problem. Depending upon the warp, they sometimes can be fixed, but it would have to be a fairly mild warping. I'd be surprised if Fender didn't just replace the neck.

It's cheaper to bolt on a new neck than fix it properly. So, thats what they will do.

If you bought it new, I'd hope you could get a new neck from Fender for no charge...
