Neck pocket question

Hi. Building a jazz bass. Have the neck and body. Both the same company but the neck is slightly smaller than the body neck pocket. Is there something someone would recommend to build up the sides of the pocket that I could sand down for a snug fit? Thanks

You could use any kind of wood you want and then glue them to the side walls. The only problem there is you will need to re-route the pocket to match the neck. You could also use wood veneers and build them up and hand sand them down to fit. You mount the neck and start sliding them in till you reach the thick that makes you happy. This could be the easiest way to to go as you can cut and shape them easier than a block of wood that has been added.

I've used maple veneer stock for this.

If they are from the same company the fit should be good, or at least acceptable. I'd give them a call...
