neck pup out

finally i've got my brand new(1week old) fender highway1 jb .got home and realized the neck pup was out .no sound. bridge and tone pots ok. sure i'll go back to dealer's shop as it's under warranty and have the bass repaired.as a starter i wish i knew what could be the problem.could it be the pup or the pot? tnx all

just take it back and get them to fix it up.. and make sure you throughly test EVERYTHING on an instrument before you take it home next time! imagine you took it straight to a gig or an audition!! then you'd be in deep doodoo!

hold on, 1st have you hit the series parallel switch? just checking the simple things 1st. other than that get it back to the shop and get them to fix it.

The S1 switch disables the bridge vol control and combines them on the neck vol. It may be hooked up wrong but most likely the problem is a cold solder joint or one that is just not connected at all. On the other hand it could be a bad pot or a bad pickup. they do fail just not often.

the news are :i took it back.they checked the whole thing out .the loop was ok and all solders proper done.thankfully i had it replaced .the new one works ok .shouldn't i buy online anymore?
