Neck stability-BEAD Strung

I have no reason to believe I will have an issue. But want to avoid more work than needed.

I am going to string one of my jazz basses BEAD. The one I've chosen is a MIJ 66 Reissue with a fairly thin neck. Anyone else go this route with a thinner neck profile? Question is about stability of the B string. I have no problem putting a new nut back in if I don't get positive results. Just want input from others.

Neck stability should not be an issue. Low-pitched strings have greater diameter, not greater tension.

You'll have less tension on the neck, not more if you go with a gauge comparable to what was used in EADG tuning. Worst case scenario you might have to loosen the truss rod a pinch, although I doubt it.

Put them on a 70's Reissue Jazz. Touched the 4th string nut. Little truss tweek. Sounds and plays well. I'll let it set a bit play some more.

@Eighthnoterock I'm curious about BEAD and getting that B to sound good on a 34" scale bass. What string set did you use? What gauge?

Thanks -- I'd love to hear more after some time passes -- I don't think I want the weight of a 5-string but in theory BEAD seems like a good "solution"
