Need a Ballsy/Doomy Fuzz

Blower Box
Bluebeard
Swollen Pickle
Blackarts Pharaoh
Boss FZ-2
Boss HM-2

As much as I like to geek out on them, I'd avoid all of the obscure boutique stuff. Early doom bands didn't typically use expensive as crap oddball pedals.

ZVex Machine. It is evil but extremely useable. I mean it is seriously one of my favorites. Got one with a paint defect, so I didn't have to pay the full price, which really is a bit much for a one trick pony, but it is worth a look if you can demo one somewhere (found a tiny local shop that stocks ZVex, so you might get lucky and find the same sort of place).

It's hard to go wrong with a muff fuzz for doomy stuff IMO. I was just playing with Vick audio Black Russian again and man, I keep forgetting how awesome, and doomy it can get. The pharaoh supreme is pretty darn good for that sort of thing too. Major bump and a lot fuzz options in one pedal.

I've been using the ProCo Rat II for the past year as a fuzz pedal, but it sounds very tiny to me. Looking for something that can replicate the bass fuzz of Sleep, Weedeater, August Burns Red, basically the heaviest sound possible without complete break up. Any suggestions?
Rat II's don't have a lot of bass, and they really require a clean blend to work on bass without sounding tiny. But I recently picked up an MXR Bass Distortion, which is a Rat optimized for bass, and it kills whether you blend it or not. It's a less deluxe version of the Fuzzrocious Rat Tail. The Rat Tail has a couple extra cool features you might like, but the MXR is smaller and butt simple to use and has what I consider the most useful feature of the Rat Tail...switchable silicon or LED diodes. LED mode really fattens up the sound of a Rat.
