Need a new amp

Hello.
I need a new amp. I'm looking for something minimum 300W around $500. I want something that will last. My last combo amp was a Behringer BXL3000 and it sounded great and lasted about 9 years. Had it dialed in and I would like to get the same quality and performance. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a buddy that will sell me a cabinet if I buy a head. Which would be better?

For $500, you may be able to snag a GK RB and a cab. If you like a cleaner tone, 1001RB-II. If you like some grit, 700RB-II. Guitar Center has a used 1001 for under $300. I'd be all over that. I thoroughly dig mine. It's incredibly versatile. I'd also keep an eye open for a Traynor YBA. I have a YBA 200-2 that naturally sounds sweet eq'd flat. I did swap my preamp tubes from AXs to ATs, for additional clean headroom.

Good luck!

I play metal. A lot of thrash classics, newer, detuned stuff, as well as some classic rock, punk, doom, black metal, death metal. Metal. I would prefer new. I have a thing about not being the first.
GK MB500 would be worth a look in my opinion. I suspect that the Fender options would also be worth a look as they get good reviews and I think the voicing might work. It also seems to me that you'll be using your cab at the limits of its abilities, be sure you buy enough cab to get the volume you want/need and that your de-tuned playing doesn't have you pushing too much energy down low for the cab to handle at higher volumes.
